Current focus
Senior software engineer on the iOS/tvOS video playback team at Paramount+ (Jul 2021 – present), contributing to Swift-based apps serving 77M+ users across iOS, tvOS, and visionOS—video playback architecture, UI, StoreKit, and content monetization workflows (DAI, SSAI, IMA). Co-authored patent work on viewer-position optimization during this role.
From live broadcasts to software
In parallel with writing software, I spent over twelve years as a high-resolution broadcast video engineer with IATSE Local 16—running switchers, recorders, and media servers as Engineer in Charge for major live events and corporate keynotes (Salesforce, Oracle, Facebook, Apple, Cisco, Google). That live-signal discipline ran alongside founding ShowBlender LLC (2014–2021), an independent studio shipping native Apple tools, and later advising Dovetail Labs (2019–2022) on bias in emotion-recognition systems.
The overlap wasn't accidental: debugging a live broadcast under pressure and debugging a production iOS playback pipeline call on the exact same instinct—mastering the signal chain so failure modes are diagnosed and resolved before anyone downstream notices.
How the work is presented
This page outlines the through-line and engineering judgment developed across these roles. Individual project case studies detail the architecture, trade-offs, and lessons learned. The full chronological timeline lives on my résumé.
Historical lineage
The ShowBlender archive preserves earlier public products and writing as historical context for how these ideas developed over time.
